Cashless thanks to Mastercard

Payment transactions on the two large jazzopen stages on the Schlossplatz and in the Old Castle have been cashless since 2022 in collaboration with premium partner Mastercard. Drinks, food, or merchandise items can only be paid for by card. This ensures quick processing at the checkouts, there is no more searching for change and thus prevents a large traffic jam at the checkout. It couldn't be easier - and if you pay with Mastercard you get an additional 20 percent discount.

Scharr makes the jazzopen climate-neutral*

The energy trading company Friedrich Scharr KG has made jazzopen climate-neutral* since 2014. Extensive research into energy consumption was carried out in advance, taking into account set-up and dismantling, the concerts and the arrival and departure of the audience. The energy consumption is offset by an international Scharr climate protection project in Dafur in Sudan, which has been certified with the gold standard, the highest international class. 15,000 households will receive liquid gas stoves, which replace life-threatening open fireplaces in closed rooms and also reduce CO2 emissions per stove per year by over four tons.
