Angelique Kidjo

Angélique Kidjo, a five-time Grammy Award winner and one of the leading artists in the international music scene, has had an impressive career with thirteen albums to her name which she celebrates in her current tour "Celebrating 40 years". She has been called "Africa's leading diva" and is one of the continent's 50 most important personalities according to the BBC. Kidjo was also listed as one of the 100 most inspirational women in the world by The Guardian and was the first woman to be included in the list of the most powerful personalities in Africa by Forbes Magazine. Her achievements are reflected in prestigious awards, including the Crystal Award from the World Economic Forum and the Amnesty International Ambassador of Conscience Award.

As an artist, Kidjo has gained worldwide respect for her distinctive voice, stage presence and ability to master different cultures and languages. She combines West African traditions with elements of R&B, funk and jazz, complemented by influences from Europe and Latin America. In 2018, she released a rendition of the Talking Heads classic Remain in Light, recorded by superstar producer Jeff Bhasker. Kidjo toured the world with this musical extravaganza, playing Carnegie Hall and the Bonnaroo Festival.

Her albums DJIN DJIN, EVE and her orchestral album with the Orchestre Philharmonique Du Luxembourg won a Grammy.. In addition to music, she released a memoir in 2014. Kidjo has performed with various international orchestras and collaborated with Philip Glass. She is also a UNICEF and OXFAM ambassador and is involved in education and charity work. In 2018, she sang Blewu under the Arc de Triomphe in front of 70 presidents to commemorate the centenary of the First World War, as a tribute to African soldiers.

Acclaimed vocalist Lizz Wright is returning to her own label, Blues & Greens Records, with her latest album, Shadow. This album celebrates intimacy, loss, community, and healing, presenting Lizz Wright in a gentle and triumphant light. The album includes her original compositions and unique interpretations of well-known songs. Produced by Chris Bruce and featuring renowned musicians, Shadow is set to release singles like Sweet Feeling, Root of Mercy, and Your Love in the coming months, with the full album expected in April 2024. Blues & Greens Records, Lizz Wright's innovative label venture, emphasizes sound business practices and wellness offerings for artists. Lizz Wright is known for her culturally diverse and compassionate music that defies social boundaries and creates a sense of belonging.

Daniel Torres

PERSONAL AND INTIMATE

Stepping Out Of Reality is the latest project by Spanish saxophonist and composer Daniel Torres. It represents one of his most personal and intimate endeavors, designed to take the listener on a journey through various sounds and emotions. The repertoire consists entirely of Daniel's own compositions, showcasing a wide musical variety that includes elements of bolero, straight-ahead jazz, modal music, free jazz, and bossa. The addition of various percussion instruments, such as castanets, batá drums, congas, and Udu, infuses the music with diverse and exotic flavors. Despite this eclecticism, the compositions come together to form a cohesive, unique, and engaging musical narrative.

This sextet features highly acclaimed international jazz musicians from the Netherlands, the United States, and Spain. These artists have shared the stage with jazz legends like Benny Golson, Steve Grossman, Rashied Ali, and many others. The members of the sextet are Joris Teepe on bass, Perico Sambeat on alto saxophone, Owen Hart Jr. on drums, Juan Galiardo on piano, Carlos Cortés on percussion, and Daniel Torres on tenor saxophone and compositions.

Daniel Torres is recognized as one of the leading contemporary jazz saxophonists. He has collaborated with renowned players from the international jazz scene and has performed at prestigious venues worldwide, including the "Bimhuis" in Amsterdam and the "Four Seasons Centre" in Toronto.
