Ferenc Mehl's Hammond Kitchen
EXCITING
Hammond jazz with a solid dose of groove is on the program. The ensemble led by drummer Ferenc Mehl honors the tradition of the great Hammond trios. Saxophone, organ, and drums give each musician plenty of freedom while creating exciting, multi-layered music. Somewhere between composition and improvisation, density and transparency, melancholy and groove, a unique sound emerges. Three soloists merge into a powerful collective that draws freely from jazz history while captivating audiences with their personal and explosive music.
Line-up:
Magnus Mehl: alto saxophone
Thomas Bauser: Hammond B3
Ferenc Mehl: drums
