Louisiana Funky Butts

MODERN SOUND

Since 2003, the Louisiana Funky Butts Brass Band with six brass players and two drummers has been playing wildly through all genre boundaries. Pumpin', groovin', rockin'. It swings, it rocks, it jazzes, it sparks. They playfully switch between Afrobeats, Latin grooves, French pop, southern rock, Cajun, club sounds and traditional 2nd-line jazz. With humour, bite and passion, the brass band sings and raps in many languages about God and the world, good and bad times, corazón and amour fou. Not only live, but also on the band's fourth CD album, there are almost exclusively original compositions in a modern brass sound. The Louisiana Funky Butts - the brass band machine from Tübingen! Steeled by countless street gigs, parties and events across Germany, the 6 brass players and 2 drummers also perform internationally and play their way wildly through all genre boundaries - in addition to appearances in France, Russia and England, they even played at the French Quarter Festival in New Orleans for the first time in April 2017! New material was created there for the new live CD From NOLA WITH LOVE, which was recorded by SWR.

Pumpin', groovin', rockin' - that swings, that rocks, that jazzes, that sparks. The band easily manages to switch between Afrobeats, Latin grooves, crisp funk and traditional New Orleans second line music. The "mobile Brasskommando" sings and raps with a lot of humour, bite and message and celebrates a typical "New Orleans block party" with the audience with lots of good humour and rousing music, true to the band's slogan: "Let the good times roll -on la laissez les bons temps rouler"!
